Steps:
Xeomin treatment involves the injection of highly diluted, individualized doses of botulinum toxin A into (or in close proximity to) overactive facial muscles which are responsible for wrinkles. Xeomin relaxes muscle(s) by diminishing their ability to contract. The following Xeomin injection Self-Care instructions have been prepared specifically for our patients.
Skin filler treatment involves the injection of highly purified, individualized doses of hyaluronic acid into unwanted skin folds, creases, lines, and wrinkles. The skin filler acts by superficially “filling” in and simply smoothing out unwanted skin lines with a biologically natural product. The procedure must be performed by an appropriately licensed and trained physician or mid-level provider pursuant to physician supervision and according to prevailing state law. The following Self-Care instructions have been developed specifically for our patients.
1. Schedule an Initial Consultation:
Undergo a thorough medical evaluation to assess your health status, discuss weight loss goals, and determine the most suitable treatment plan.
2. Medication Review:
Inform your provider about all current medications, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements, to avoid potential interactions.
3. Dietary Preparation:
Begin adopting a balanced diet rich in whole foods, lean proteins, vegetables, and whole grains.
Reduce intake of processed foods, sugars, and high-fat items.
4. Hydration:
Aim to drink at least 64 ounces of water daily to prepare your body for treatment.
5. Physical Activity:
Incorporate light to moderate exercise, such as walking or yoga, into your routine to enhance treatment efficacy.
6. Avoid Alcohol and Tobacco:
Refrain from consuming alcohol and tobacco products at least 24 hours before treatment, as they can interfere with medication effectiveness.
7. Fasting Requirements:
Follow any specific fasting instructions provided by your healthcare provider, especially if blood tests are scheduled.
8. Medical Conditions:
Notify your provider if you have any existing medical conditions, such as diabetes or cardiovascular issues, to tailor the treatment plan accordingly.
1. Medication Adherence:
Take prescribed medications exactly as directed. Do not adjust dosages without consulting your provider.
2. Monitor Side Effects:
Common side effects may include nausea, headache, or fatigue. If you experience severe or persistent symptoms, contact your provider immediately.
3. Dietary Guidelines:
Continue following a nutritious, calorie-controlled diet.
Eat small, frequent meals to maintain energy levels and prevent nausea
4. Hydration:
Maintain adequate fluid intake to support metabolism and overall health.
5. Physical Activity:
Gradually increase the intensity and duration of your workouts as tolerated.
Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity per week.
6. Regular Check-Ins:
Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments to monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and address any concerns.
7. Avoid Alcohol and Tobacco:
Continue to abstain from alcohol and tobacco to maximize treatment benefits and overall health.
8. Emotional Well-being:
Consider joining support groups or counseling services to address emotional aspects of weight loss and maintain motivation.
Reach out to your healthcare provider if you experience:
Severe gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g., persistent vomiting or diarrhea)
Signs of dehydration (e.g., dizziness, decreased urination)
Unusual fatigue or weakness
Rapid heartbeat or chest pain
Any other concerning symptoms
1. Avoid blood thinners (if approved by your physician):
Stop the following at least 3–5 days before treatment to reduce bruising:
Aspirin
Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin)
Naproxen (Aleve)
Fish oil, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, and other herbal supplements
2. Wear loose, comfortable clothing:
Especially pants or shorts that can be pulled up above the knees if treating legs.
3. No lotion or oil on treatment area:
Please arrive with clean, dry skin—free of lotion, cream, sunscreen, or self-tanner.
4. Do not shave your legs the day of treatment.
Shaving can increase skin sensitivity and irritation after the procedure.
5. Avoid tanning and sun exposure for 7–10 days prior.
Tanned or sunburned skin is more prone to irritation and hyperpigmentation.
6. Inform your provider if you:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Have a history of blood clots, DVT, or poor circulation
Have had recent surgery or are on blood thinners
Have allergies to polidocanol, lidocaine, or any medications
Have active infections or wounds near the treatment area
Mild swelling, redness, itching, or bruising around injection sites
Temporary “matting” (fine red capillaries) in treated areas
Tenderness, firmness, or slight discoloration—these are normal and improve with time
1. Wear compression stockings:
20–30 mmHg compression stockings should be worn continuously for the first 24 hours, then during the day for 7–14 days
This helps reduce swelling, prevent clotting, and improve treatment results
2. Walk regularly:
Walk 15–20 minutes immediately after treatment
Continue to walk at least 20–30 minutes daily to promote healthy blood flow
3. Avoid strenuous activity for 3–5 days:
No heavy lifting, leg workouts, running, or hot yoga
Avoid prolonged standing or sitting—change positions often
4. No hot baths, saunas, or hot tubs for 1 week:
Showering is fine with lukewarm water. Avoid soaking legs or direct heat on treated areas.
5. No sun exposure on treated areas for at least 2 weeks:
Wear SPF 30+ daily to avoid pigmentation changes or staining in healing skin.
6. Don’t pick or scratch:
Any crusting, scabbing, or bruising should be left to heal naturally. Picking can cause scarring or pigmentation.
Tanning beds and self-tanners for 2 weeks
Leg massages for 2 weeks
Flights or long car rides over 2 hours for 3–7 days (unless medically cleared and wearing compression stockings)
Treated veins may look worse before they look better—this is normal!
Improvement typically starts within 2–4 weeks, with full results visible in 6–12 weeks
Some veins may require 2–3 treatment sessions for best results
Touch-up sessions are common and scheduled based on your response
Contact us right away if you experience:
Painful, red, or swollen veins that worsen after 2–3 days
Sudden leg swelling or tenderness
Fever or chills
Blistering or blackening of the skin
Allergic reaction (hives, difficulty breathing, chest tightness)
1. Avoid sun exposure:
Stay out of direct sunlight and tanning beds for at least 1 week before your treatment. Use SPF 30+ daily.
2. Discontinue irritating skincare products:
Stop using the following products at least 3–5 days before:
Retinol or Retin-A
AHAs/BHAs (glycolic, lactic, salicylic acid)
Vitamin C (strong serums)

To reduce the risk of bruising, stop taking the following 3–5 days before (unless medically necessary—check with your doctor):
Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin)
Aspirin
Fish oil
Vitamin E
Other blood-thinning supplements
4. No chemical peels or laser treatments:
Avoid other aesthetic facial treatments in the 2 weeks leading up to your RF microneedling appointment.
5. Hydrate and come with clean skin:
Drink plenty of water the day before and day of your appointment. Arrive with no makeup, lotion, sunscreen, or skincare products on your face.
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Have active cold sores or a history of herpes simplex virus
Are currently using isotretinoin (Accutane) or recently stopped within the last 6 months
Have any active infections, open wounds, or skin conditions in the treatment area
Have a pacemaker or metal implants in the face
Mild redness, swelling, and a sunburn-like sensation for 1–3 days
Possible pinpoint bleeding or scabbing (don’t pick!)
Skin tightness or dryness
1. Keep the area clean:
Do not wash your face for at least 6–8 hours post-treatment
After that, use a gentle, non-active cleanser (we’ll recommend one)
2. Avoid the following for 48–72 hours:
Sweating, heavy workouts, saunas, or hot yoga
Sun exposure (use mineral SPF daily!)
Makeup or cosmetics (for at least 24 hours)
Alcohol-based products or actives (retinols, acids, vitamin C, etc.)
Harsh scrubs, brushes, or exfoliators
3. Hydrate your skin:
Apply the soothing serum or post-care products we provide
Use a gentle moisturizer frequently to keep skin calm and hydrated
4. Sleep with care:
Use a clean pillowcase
Sleep on your back with your head elevated the first night if possible
Peeling or flaking may occur—don’t pick or exfoliate
Skin texture and tone will gradually improve over 2–4 weeks
Full collagen remodeling takes up to 12 weeks
A series of 3–4 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is recommended for optimal results
Pre- and Post-Use Instructions for Acne & Anti-Aging Programs
Including: NEOCLEANSE®, BIO GEL FIRM, BIO CREAM FIRM RICHE, Tretinoin 0.025%, and Hydroquinone 4%
1. Discontinue Irritating Products:
Stop using over-the-counter retinols, exfoliants (AHAs/BHAs), and scrubs for at least 3–5 days prior to beginning this regimen.
2. Sun Protection is Non-Negotiable:
Begin wearing SPF 30+ daily and avoid tanning or prolonged sun exposure to prep your skin for actives like tretinoin and hydroquinone.
3. Prepare for Possible Sensitivity:
Understand that mild dryness, flaking, and redness can be part of the skin adjustment process, especially in the first 2–4 weeks. This is temporary and manageable.
4. Hydration is Key:
Start using a gentle hydrating product (like BIO GEL FIRM or BIO CREAM FIRM RICHE) before starting your actives to strengthen your skin barrier.
🧴 Morning Routine Instructions
Cleanse:
Use NEOCLEANSE® Gentle (Acne) or Exfoliating (Anti-Aging) Cleanser. Pat skin dry.
Treatment:
Hydroquinone (Anti-Aging Only): Apply a thin layer to areas of pigmentation or discoloration. Avoid the eye area.
No Tretinoin in the morning.
Moisturize:
Apply BIO GEL FIRM (Acne) or BIO CREAM FIRM RICHE (Anti-Aging) to nourish and protect skin.
Sun Protection:
Finish with broad-spectrum SPF 30+—daily, rain or shine. Tretinoin and hydroquinone make your skin more sun-sensitive.
Cleanse:
Repeat your morning cleanser (Gentle or Exfoliating depending on your regimen).
Wait 10–15 minutes:
Skin should be completely dry before applying tretinoin to avoid irritation.
Treatment:
Tretinoin 0.025%: Apply a pea-sized amount to entire face, avoiding eyes, nostrils, and mouth. Start with 2–3 nights per week, and build up to nightly use as tolerated.
Hydroquinone (if prescribed): Can be used in the evening too, especially for deeper pigmentation concerns. Avoid using at the same time as tretinoin unless directed by your provider.
Moisturize:
Apply your designated Neocutis moisturizer to reduce dryness and support skin repair.
Week 1–2: You may notice dryness, light flaking, or “purging” (temporary breakouts as skin clears). Keep moisturizing and reduce frequency of tretinoin if needed.
Week 3–4: Pigmentation may begin to fade, texture may feel smoother, and breakouts may decrease.
Week 6–12: Expect visible improvements in skin tone, clarity, and fine lines. Stick with the routine—consistency is key.
Waxing, laser treatments, or harsh exfoliants in treated areas
Tanning beds or unprotected sun exposure
Combining tretinoin or hydroquinone with benzoyl peroxide (unless directed)
Using actives like vitamin C or acids at the same time as tretinoin/hydroquinone (space out by AM/PM or different days)
Call your provider if you experience:
Redness, swelling, or burning that worsens over time
Severe dryness, cracking, or peeling
Signs of allergic reaction
No improvement after 12 weeks
Use LUMIERE FIRM RICHE eye cream separately (safe on upper & lower lids)
Consider adding BIO SERUM FIRM for deeper collagen support
Apply products gently—no rubbing or overuse
Keep a simple routine and allow your skin to adjust gradually
7 Days Before Your Peel:
Stop using retinol, tretinoin, hydroquinone, glycolic/salicylic acids, and other exfoliants.
Avoid waxing, laser hair removal, and aggressive scrubs on the treatment area.
Let us know if you are using any topical or oral acne medications.
Avoid sun exposure and do not use tanning beds.
If prone to cold sores, notify us—a prophylactic antiviral may be prescribed.
Day of Your Appointment:
Arrive with clean skin – no makeup, moisturizer, or sunscreen.
Wear comfortable clothing, especially if the peel is being applied to the neck or chest.
Let your provider know about any recent illness, allergies, or medications.
You’ll be given a VI Peel Post-Care Kit with everything you need, including cleanser, moisturizer, and post-peel towelettes.
Leave the peel solution on for 4–6 hours, then cleanse as instructed.
Apply Post-Peel Towelettes at night (after cleansing).
Your skin may feel tight or look slightly tanned/orange. This is normal.
Avoid heavy sweating or exercise.
Peeling usually starts around the mouth and continues to the cheeks and jawline.
Do not pick, peel, or rub the skin—let it flake naturally to avoid scarring or hyperpigmentation.
Use the moisturizer provided as often as needed.
Continue to use post-peel towelettes until finished.
Peeling slows or stops. Skin may appear pink and feel baby-smooth.
Resume your normal gentle skincare routine.
Continue daily SPF 30+ and avoid direct sun for at least 2 weeks.
No sun exposure or tanning for 7–14 days
No waxing, exfoliating, or scrubbing for 10 days
No makeup during heavy peeling (Days 3–5), unless approved
Avoid harsh or active ingredients (retinol, acids) for 7 days post-peel
No chemical peels, microneedling, or laser treatments for 2–4 weeks
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ every morning, even if indoors. Your skin will be photosensitive for at least a week after treatment.
Contact us immediately if you experience:
Severe redness, blistering, or oozing
